The Environmental Health Strategy Center actively collaborates with other organizations in partnerships aimed at improving environmental health.
The Alliance for a Clean and Healthy Maine, a diverse public health coalition of Maine-based organizations that work together to phase out the use of unnecessary, toxic chemicals in favor of safer alternatives. The Environmental Health Strategy Center founded and leads the Alliance.
SAFER — the State Alliance for Federal Reform of chemical policy. In 2005, the Strategy Center co-founded a national alliance of state-based coalitions to advance safer chemicals. SAFER works to build a critical mass of state reform that will help drive a fix of our federal chemical safety system. The Strategy Center plays a leadership role in SAFER to ripen the moment for federal policy reform.
Safer Chemicals, Healthy Families, a nationwide campaign representing over four million members calling for stronger federal toxic chemicals policies. The Environmental Health Strategy Center helps to staff the national campaign, providing strategic policy analysis and campaign support.
Engage Maine, a collaboration of organizations working to engage Maine citizens to play an active role in our democracy. Engage Maine is a non-partisan, long-term strategy for building strategic power in order to advance public policies that will bring a better future for all Mainers.
The Environmental Priorities Coalition, is a coalition of twenty-five Maine organizations representing over 100,000 members working together to produce a Common Environmental Agenda at the beginning of each legislative session to help guide lawmakers. In 2009, the Maine Legislature passed each of the Environmental Priorities Coalition priority bills and did not allow any weakening of existing environmental standards.
