Partnerships

The Environmental Health Strategy Center actively collaborates with other organizations in partnerships to create a sustainable economy.

Sustainable Bioplastics Council of Maine
The Sustainable Bioplastics Council of Maine is a business-led consortium of manufacturers, the University of Maine, and nonprofits that has raised $2 million over the past 3 years to advance the research, development and commercial production of bioplastics made sustainably from Maine potatoes and forest biomass. The Environmental Health Strategy Center co-founded and staffs the Council. We aim to create green jobs and boost the rural economy through an economic development strategy steeped in the principles of green chemistry.

Sustainable Biomaterials Collaborative
The Sustainable Biomaterials Collaborative is a nation-wide network of organizations working together to spur the introduction and use of biomaterials that are sustainable from cradle to cradle. The Collaborative seeks to advance the development and diffusion of sustainable biomaterials by creating sustainability guidelines, engaging markets, and promoting policy initiatives.
